What is KI.DA? 

KI.DA is a desktop application that automatically generates interactive dashboards from natural language input.

KI.DA combines local AI models with a programmatic approach to data visualization.
Instead of manually assembling dashboards, you describe what you want to see in a simple prompt—for example, "Show me sales by region and month."

 

KI.DA takes care of the rest: from analyzing your data structure and generating queries to creating a finished, interactive visualization within seconds.

How it works​

1. You connect KI.DA to your data source (for example, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Excel, or CSV).

2. You formulate your question or request in natural language—in German or English.

3. KI.DA analyzes your input, identifies the relevant tables and columns, generates the appropriate database query, and automatically creates a dashboard with suitable visualizations—whether bar charts, line charts, pie charts, KPI maps, pivot tables, or other display formats.

4. The result is an interactive dashboard that you can use directly, filter, customize, and share with other employees.

Data from different sources can also be combined in a single dashboard—for example, key performance indicators from an SQL Server database together with data from an Excel file.

KI.DA works across sources and seamlessly integrates the information.

The entire process is conversational: You can ask follow-up questions, refine visualizations, or add further datasets—KI.DA understands the context and adapts accordingly.

Why Local AI Models?

KI.DA deliberately relies on locally operated AI models (e.g., via LM Studio) instead of cloud services. This provides several key advantages:

  • Data Privacy and Data Sovereignty:
    Your data never leaves your network at any point in time. All AI processing takes place locally – no prompts, database content, or query results are transferred to external servers. This enables KI.DA to meet even strict compliance requirements.

    Since no external AI services are connected, recurring API or usage fees are eliminated. Once set up, the solution operates fully autonomously.

    KI.DA functions without an internet connection. You are not dependent on the availability or terms of service of external providers.
